With more than 47 years’ industry experience, we are a community service leader, striving to create change through our work across homelessness and housing supports, youth and family services, sector advocacy and programs that promote genuine participation for people with disability.

Come and join our awesome Young Peoples' Advisory Committee (YPAC) where you can have your say and get actively involved in helping your community!


headspace aims to have young people involved in every aspect of the decision-making for our centre to ensure young people's voices and opinions remain front and centre.

The Young Peoples' Advisory Committee (YPAC) at headspace Lismore are made up of volunteers aged 12-25yo who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.

Our YPAC make sure that any new initiative from headspace Lismore will make a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Some of the things we do in the YPAC include:

  • plan and run youth events, workshops, school talks. community awareness headspace stalls at festivals and more
  • use our social media platforms to connect with and empower other young people and their families
  • assist in the design and development of our centre - shaping the delivery of headspace services, including policy, staff recruitment and training
  • represent headspace at events for local organisations/services/schools

headspace Lismore wants to hear from a diverse range of voices. You are especially encouraged to apply if you:

  • have experienced your own struggles or feel passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of local young people
  • are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young person, have a disability or identify as LGBTIQASB+

***Please note: Your application will be shared with members of the Young Peoples' Advisory Group as part of the assessment process, including your name. Addresses, emails and phone contacts will remain hidden from other YPAC members. Please clearly indicate in final comment box if you wish any information to be kept confidential (i.e. for staff only).

As a volunteer of headspace Lismore you will also become a registered volunteer of Social Futures, the organisation that runs headspace Lismore.
To ensure the safety of our communities and young people headspace and Social Futures requires all volunteers 18yo and over to have successfully completed a Working With Children Check (NSW) and National Police Records Check. Social Futures will cover any costs involved.
It is also required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
